On a day-to-day basis the Staff will ensure that

The welcome extended to children is warm and individually directed.

The level of individual attention and comfort offered is appropriate to the expression of distress or anxiety.

Strategies used to encourage children to join in activities allow them to adjust in their own way and at their own pace.

The activities on offer are appropriate to the broad level of development of the children.

The presentation of equipment and materials is varied to attract children to use activities and allows for choice and experimentation.

The quality of the equipment and materials is sufficient to enable the planned number of children to participate.

The hygiene and safety of equipment and material is checked before use and defective equipment is removed.

Communication with parents makes clear that their presence at the Crèche is welcome.

Any accidents or injuries to children are dealt with in a safe, hygienic manner and an accurate written report made as soon as possible afterwards.

Information about any such incident is reported in a calm and accurate manner to the child’s parents as soon as possible afterwards.

A fun, safe and secure environment is the main priority .
